I look upon the sky and there is the sun blazing...then without warning...God brings down shower with just a switch. Life, a moment sweating like a dog...next moment all drenched and wet.

Narnia

Recently there is a great deal of good huge productions. Usual trend of a Holiday Season, Christmas just around the corner!

Today I went to watch Narnia - The wardrobe, the lion and the Witch...or was it the other way round?? Anyway does not matter...

It is a great movie although not as captivating, deep and good in art/direction as King Kong. It is obvious that Digital Graphics have reached another new height as I was trilled by the creatures (a lot of them fully digitalized!). It is as if the children were walking to real life mythical creatures.

The storyline is simple and yet entertaining and delightful. Some movies (like Aeon Flux) tried too hard to be complicated and yet failed badly.

End Result: Felt young and hopeful again. This is the kind of movies that makes me see through the eyes of children, ever loving caring and hopeful. Makes me believe the goodness in life and feel the strength from within.

Just watched it last night with PB, she wartched the 2nd time with me though.
I guess the movie's not my cup of tea, the plot is too simple and kind of mindless. Just like the Harry Potter series, I prefer the later episodes rather than the earlier ones as those are too simple.
Probably I expect much more from the plot, when it's too 'childish' for me, I won't buy it.

Different cup of tea I guess...But I prefer to give it credits.

For me, I viewed it quite positively... I do not think it is childish as there are values in the movies that make me ponder.

Example: Being a family does not mean control and should be understanding and encouraging. As the professor said "why you not believe your sister, she is your family!"
Making a stand for the things you believe is the strongest message I got from the movie. The siblings not believing in the little sister but she out to prove, The faun risked his life to help a stranger due to his belief in the prophecy, Aslan stand and die for his belief at the stone table, All four siblings did great things when they do believe in the better good etc.

For better of worse, Belief is the key elemental in life.
The world of Narnia basically runs on believes...
That is the message I got and that is what gave me energy and hope after I watched it.

If you were to give it a chance, it might be more than just a surface deep children show...
